VALEDO fans are made in Valencia, Spain.folding fanThis is a collaboration with the long-established company 'Abanikos Carbonell' in Valencia, Spain. The material used is palo santo (rosewood). It was brought to Japan via the sea in the early Edo period (1603-1868) during the Nanban trade between Spain and Japan,folding fanculture seems to have spread to Europe. to the hot climate of Spain,folding fanculture seems to be well suited to the hot climate of Spain, and even today, this form offolding fanare still used today.
We asked Mr. Takafumi Mochizuki, a wood inlay craftsman in Firenze, to inlay the parent bone of this collaborative product.
