Sattva Pass(Sattatotoge)The difficult pass, called Sattattatoge, offers a spectacular view of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. On the other hand, the steep, rocky mountain paths and precipitous cliffs are an adventure. Yet, the travelers seem to be able to shrug off their fears, as their eyes are drawn to the beautiful scenery, and they are portrayed as small figures gazing at it from the waist up.
The tranquil and spacious scene at sea contrasts beautifully with the ruggedness of the mountain path, creating a masterpiece full of three-dimensionality.
